Oklahoma City police have arrested a man accused of gunning down a young mother at an apartment complex.
Patrick Bernard Slaughter, 21, was arrested late Tuesday on a murder complaint. He is accused of fatally shooting Ranika Lindsey on June 7 at the Hefner Hollow Apartments near the 7800 block of Lyrewood Lane, police reported.
Lindsey's friend Keyera McMullen told News 9 she and Lindsey, 26, were sitting outside at the Hefner Hollow Apartments when McMullen said two groups started shooting at each other.
“We were just sitting outside, just with each other, and then they just walked past shooting and then it happened to hit her,” McMullen told News 9. “They were just shooting from both directions."
McMullen ran for cover, but she said Lindsey got caught in the crossfire.
