Police said a fight broke out at the hotel between Vicente, a woman and two suspects.

Hotel owners and residents said Vicente, who was celebrating his birthday, lived at the hotel with 32-year-old Lana DeLodge.

“As it turns out, there were two suspects that attacked the male victim, ultimately killing him,” said Msgt. Gary Knight, Oklahoma City Police Department. “A female he was with jumped in trying to intercede, she was also injured.”

DeLodge was rushed to the hospital with knife wounds and is expected to live. One of the suspects, Jesse Nino, 35, was also injured in the fight. Police said Samuel Nino, 37, was the suspect armed with the knife.

The chaos continued when the two suspects fled the hotel.

“As the two men fled,” said Knight. “They ran into a motorcycle leaving the parking lot and fled that scene, as well.”

The men then drove onto I-40, causing a major traffic tie-up after crashing into a semi and several cars. On the interstate is where officers finally caught up with the two men they reported were heavily intoxicated.

“One of them was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on a murder complaint,” said Knight. “The other was also suffering from knife wounds. He was admitted into a local hospital where he remains at this time.”

Police said Jesse Nino will also likely face a murder complaint once he is released from the hospital and booked into jail.
