Two people are dead after a wreck Thursday morning in Okmulgee County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP says a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Austin Peavler of Weleetka was traveling along US-62 just after midnight when the crash happened roughly three miles west of Henryetta.

According to OHP, for unknown reasons, Peavler's vehicle departed the roadway, then merged back before leaving the roadway again and striking a tree.

Peavler was pinned inside the vehicle, and his passenger, 32-year-old Dakota Baldwin, was ejected from the vehicle.

OHP said both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, neither occupant of the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
