April is Made in Oklahoma Month, and the Arca Continental Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch took a look at products that are made in Oklahoma. Emily Shuping from the Made in Oklahoma Coalition discussed why it’s important to buy local.

“Most of the local grocers here in Oklahoma City carry many of these products,” Shuping said. “Even some more of the specialty items. So you could go to your local Crest, Homeland, Uptown Grocery and so many different other grocery stores here in the city that carry some awesome Oklahoma products.”

Buying locally ensures that Oklahomans are supporting Oklahoma’s economy.

“When you are choosing to shop for a local product, you are helping support a local job, you are helping keep tax dollars here in the state of Oklahoma, you're making an impact for a small business here in the state,” Shuping said. “So every time you spend your dollar on a local product, it goes back into the Oklahoma economy and really helps bolster our state in so many ways, especially through employment opportunities for Oklahomans and for keeping small businesses alive here in the state.”
