OCCHD Available Vaccine Appointments

The Oklahoma City-County Health Department in partnership with Mercy Health System will hold a vaccination event for those 65 and older.  

The department says 3,000 vaccination appointments are available for the first event on Feb. 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Mercy’s Meinders Neuroscience Institute.

Smithsonian Race & Place Event

The Smithsonian and Oklahoma History Center are honoring black history month with a virtual presentation called Race and Place 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The event will dive into Yellow Fever and the Free African Society in Philadelphia and offer a discussion afterward of history and how it plays into the current pandemic.

Early voting is one week away for the special primary Board of Education election.

Theatre Showing Groundhog Day

It's almost Groundhog Day - again - and an Oklahoma City theater is offering people an all-day opportunity to celebrate with Bill Murray's beloved movie of the same name.

Rodeo Cinema, the nonprofit arthouse theater located in historic Stockyards City, will be screening the 1993 comedy classic "Groundhog Day" on a loop starting at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Tickets are $5, and any attendees who view all five Groundhog Day showings will receive a special surprise from the theater.

OKC Zoo Open/ Groundhog Day

The Oklahoma City Zoo doesn't have any groundhogs, so grizzly bears Will and Wiley will be putting their "fur-casting" to the test.

The zoo will be hosting a themed enrichment activity for the bears starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

It's free to attend when you buy a ticket to the zoo, but you will need to make a reservation.

For this week only, the zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Virtual Town Hall With OKC Ward 2 Councilor James Cooper

Oklahoma City Ward Councilperson James Cooper will host a virtual town hall meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9 to discuss grants and loans offered by the City to homeowners and residents interested in owning a home.
