Tiffany Shoopman was trying to do what was right for her son, who she said has a history of anger, but now she is asking for help finding him after he escaped from a facility on Sunday.
"He has had some problems for quite some time," said Shoopman, Marquea Jones's mother.
Twelve-year-old Marquea was recently moved into the Red River Youth Academy, a facility that could help him.
But around noon Sunday, Shoopman said he and a few others escaped from the facility's campus, leaving Shoopman scared for her son.
"It just hurts because you want the best for your kids," said Shoopman.
She said she got a call from the academy at 3 a.m. Monday morning saying they found one of Moore's kids.
"We just got one kiddo back. Marque, I've been told was with the girlfriend and the girlfriend's mother, and they have planned to bring him back to you," said a voicemail left on Shoopman's phone.
Tiffany has been in contact with the girlfriend's mother but has not gotten the information she needs to bring her son home.
"I feel in my heart he is there, but as a mother, I am worried. I want my son to be OK. I want to get him the help he needs," said Shoopman.
She has been in contact with the facility and police departments across central Oklahoma to find her son.
So far, no response.
Marquea Jones is described to have "blondish brown hair, blue eyes, he's about 4'9" 76 pounds," said Shoopman.
News 9 reached out to Moore Police Department, Del City Police Department, and Red River Youth Academy for comment but did not hear back.
