Police Identify Suspect, Victim In Deadly SW OKC Shooting

Oklahoma City police arrested a suspect accused of shooting and killing a woman Friday morning in southwest Oklahoma City.

The shooting happened in the 2100 block of Southwest 67 Street near South Pennsylvania Avenue.

Authorities arrived just before 10 a.m. and found the victim, 43-year-old Vanita Gates, dead at the scene. According to police, there was a verbal disagreement between Gates and the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Paricia Onyekwere.

Onyekwere was taken into custody at the scene and later arrested by police.

She was booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on one complaint of murder.
