TULSA, Oklahoma -- A fire that gutted a Tulsa house Sunday morning is blamed on a domestic dispute. Firefighters arrived on scene at about 7 a.m. after the homeowners reported smoke and fire coming from the house in the 1100 block of East Haskell.
"It appears there were some domestic problems here, a jilted girlfriend maybe," said Tulsa Firefighter Tim Smallwood.
"The great thing about it, no one was injured."
Firefighters had some trouble reaching the house and had to pull back several times for their own safety.
Four adults and two children live at the residence, but the kids were not at home at the time of the blaze. Smallwood said the house is "pretty much totally gone."
The Tulsa Area American Red Cross was called in to help out the occupants. Investigators are still looking into the fire, but arson is believed to be the cause, according to Smallwood.
