CASHION, Oklahoma – Church youth groups came together to fix up Cashion's only restaurant. About 30 volunteers from area churches spent their Spring Break fixing up the Wildcat Grill.

The teens had the new and improved Wildcat Grill ready to show around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Several adults have supplied additional labor, and some local businesses have contributed supplies. Youth pastor Michelle McConnell said the teens really took charge.

"They're tired and worn out, but they're having a really good attitude," McConnell said. "I'm so proud of them. They're really being Christ-like in their attitudes."

The teens have been working since Sunday. Some had their doubts at first.

"I was a little iffy about it. I didn't know what to think about it, but now...well I'm glad everybody came together to help out with this family," said Jay Nail, teen volunteer.

From painting and nailing to cleaning, the hard work paid off.

"Actually I thought it was going to be pretty cool. I always wanted to help people, so this was my chance," said Autumn Micke, teen volunteer.

"They were excited just to see all the churches here in town come together and do this as a project," said Diana Nail, adult sponsor.

At 13-years-old, Cody Hale was one of the youngest workers. He said he's glad he spent his Spring Break volunteering.

"It's pretty cool. Yeah it's better than sitting at home doing nothing," Hale said, teen volunteer.

Cashion is a town on the Logan and Kingfisher County border with a population of just over 600 people.
