OKLAHOMA CITY -- There's a new group in town keeping track of Oklahoma City's history.
Retro Metro OKC is a collection of history buffs who say they're dedicated to educating the community about local history. The organization is doing this by collecting, preserving, displaying and interpreting materials on its Web site.
"If you don't keep telling stories, they'll die," said founding member Justin Tyler Moore.
Retro Metro OKC was started last year by a group of history enthusiasts wishing to better promote and tell the history of the greater Oklahoma City metro and to support and work with like-minded organizations whenever possible.
This week the group launched RetroMetroOKC.org - a site members said is dedicated to making history fun and accessible to all.
The founding group consists of historians, authors, urban planners, attorneys, real estate professionals, videographers and designers with ages ranging from 17 to 70.
Anyone with old photographers or items that could help increase the material on the site is encouraged to contact the group at info@RetroMetroOKC.org.
