POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, Oklahoma -- A 24-year-old man is dead and two people are in custody following a shooting in Pottawatomie County Friday evening.

Sheriff Mike Booth said the victim, Anthony Davis, was dead when police arrived on the scene.  He had been shot once in the chest.

"I heard the gunshot and then screaming," said Amanda Silvy who was in the house at the time. "There was blood everywhere."

Booth said witnesses first told him that Davis came to a house where he began arguing with 35-year-old Sheb Bennet.  Davis reportedly pulled a knife and that's when he was allegedly shot by Bennett.

"It's like a very bad horror movie, everybody was running from him and screaming," said Amanda Silvy who was in the house at the time.

Booth said investigators, however, were unable to locate a knife.

After further investigation, he said two arrests were made.  Bennett was arrested for the shooting and his girlfriend, Rebecca Roper, was arrested for accessory after the fact and tampering with evidence.

Booth said Roper claimed she was the shooter when deputies first arrived.  Witnesses said that Roper had wiped her boyfriend's fingerprints off the rifle used in the shooting.

The sheriff said the shooter and the victim were cousins.

He also said deputies have been called to this address on domestic violence calls numerous times recently and Davis had been involved on a couple of occasions.

There were several people in the house at the time, including small children.
