Police in Carney arrested a mother who reported her daughter missing after they discovered the woman had actually sent her child with a friend and apparently forgot.
On Tuesday, July 24, Amanda Kay Robertson, 24, told police her 7-year-old daughter had been missing for more than four hours. As officers began searching for the child, the mother's roommate told officers the woman actually sent her daughter with a friend then forgot.
After speaking with Robertson, police believed she was under the influence of narcotics. They obtained a search warrant and discovered used syringes believed to contain methamphetamine. Officers also found other prescription drugs in plastic baggies.
Police arrested Robertson and two other adults living in the residence, 25-year-old Jennifer Rose Blalock and 27-year-old James Michael Boyd, all of Carney. The three were booked into the Lincoln County jail and are being held without bond until their arraignment.
Four children were also taken into protective custody.
