Deputies with the Canadian County Sheriff’s Office say they arrested a man traveling along I-40 after finding over 20lbs of marijuana inside his vehicle late Thursday night.
According to the report, a deputy stopped the vehicle traveling eastbound on I-40 after noticing the license plate was unreadable. When the deputy approached the driver, identified as 43-year-old Jerry Alexander, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the deputy could smell the odor of marijuana.
After running Alexander’s information, deputies determined he had outstanding warrants out of Arizona in connection with drug trafficking. Alexander was taken into custody.
Deputies then searched Alexander’s vehicle and found 22 lbs. of marijuana in a duffle bag, and inside a large trash bag.
Alexander was transported to the Canadian County Jail and booked on one count of Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, and one count of Maintaining a Vehicle Where a Controlled Dangerous Substance is Kept. His bond has been set at $40,000.
