A 20-year-old Lawton man has been sentenced to life without parole for killing his 14-year-old brother and his father.
Thorsten Rushing was sentenced Friday in Comanche County District Court after being convicted in June on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of conspiracy to commit murder.
Rushing was convicted of the January 2014 shooting deaths of 50-year-old Uwe Rushing and 14-year-old Stefan Rushing. Witnesses testified that Rushing's motive may have been to collect his father's life insurance policy.

Defense attorneys said there was no evidence the father had life insurance or that Thorsten Rushing knew of any insurance.
Two co-defendants pleaded guilty to murder in the case and are serving life in prison. Two other co-defendants are in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy and being accessories after the crime.
