Oklahoma will kick off the new year with cold temperatures and dry conditions.
The National Weather Service says a weak cold front will approach from the northwest on New Year's Eve. But with limited moisture in place, only an increase in clouds is expected.
Below normal temperatures and partly cloudy conditions are expected to remain in place on New Year's Day and through the middle of the work week. Afternoon highs will be in the mid 30s to upper 40s. Lows will range from the lower teens to mid 20s.
New Year's Eve will be sunny. Highs will range from the mid 30s in the Oklahoma Panhandle to near 60 in far southeastern Oklahoma.
Monday night will be clear and cold with lows ranging from the singles digits to the 20s.
New Year's Day will be partly cloudy and colder.
