The Oklahoma City Fire Department saying good-bye to 2007 and goodbye to a familiar face. Deputy Chief Tony Young is retiring Tuesday after 25 and a half years with the OKC Fire Department. Young served as the department's public information officer.
"I'll miss the fire service tremendously," he said. "The comradery and the brotherhood, it's second to none."
Young, 46, will now be working for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, teaching teaching classes on their National Incident Management system. The system allows responders from different jurisdictions to better work together in responding to disasters and emergencies.
The former fire deputy chief will also serve as a regional director for a network of trained professionals who specialize in post-loss structural stabilization.
Cecil Clay will be promoted from district chief to deputy chief and will replace Young.
