STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It was billed as the game to decide who would represent the South in the Big 12 title game.
When the No. 13 Oklahoma State Cowboys started the fourth quarter down 41-7, the Cowboys’ hopes at winning a Big 12 title fell somewhere between slim and none.
The Cowboys went on to score once more in the game, but when the final gun fired Oklahoma State was down 41-14, and now their hopes for a shot at a conference title are out of their hands.
“That’s a tough one. I don’t know any other way to put it,” Gundy said. “When you turn the ball over and make that many mistakes against a team that has got that much ability, it’s very difficult to win the game.”
