ENID, Oklahoma – A train derailed Tuesday at about 10:18 a.m. in Enid.
The Enid Police Department received notification of the derailment from the Farm Rail Company. Three cars were involved in the derailment and all were still in the upright position.
No cargo spilled and or injuries were reported.
The crossing at Johnson and Randolph Avenue, Broadway and Johnson and Elm and Johnson were closed for the afternoon as railroad employees worked to put the train cars back on the tracks.
The rails are owned by Burlington Northern and the train belongs to Farm Rail Company.
According to police, heavy rains may have caused the derailment, but investigation by railroad authorities is ongoing.
