OKLAHOMA CITY -- Unusually deep tropical moisture is being pushed north by remnants of Alex. This will set up Oklahoma for a weekend with high humidity and scattered showers and a few thunderstorms.
Saturday through Monday Oklahoma will have a chance for showers and thunderstorms across the state. The tropical moisture will also keep skies mostly cloudy throughout the weekend. Mornings will start off in the low 70s, which is right around normal for this time of year. However, with the cloudy skies and the scattered rain, afternoon highs will only get up into the upper 80s, which is slightly below normal this time of year. But, with the humidity up it will feel warmer than it actually is.
Though Oklahoma has a risk for storms this weekend, the risk for severe weather is low. Therefore, don't cancel your holiday plans, but make sure to be weather aware and stay with NEWS 9, we'll keep you advised.
