NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Budget cuts in Norman mean the city won't be able to install any new speed humps next year.
The city council will cut $200,000 from the budget that would have been earmarked for the speed humps.
Dozens of them are installed around Norman as a traffic calming device. Residents seem to either love them or hate them, but at least one person who lives along Carter Avenue thinks they're great.
"I really like ‘em. It does slow down the speeders, and I haven't had as many, you know, accidents through here," said Norman resident Marsha Hoisington.
However, a Norman City Council member said emergency vehicles are avoiding streets that have speed humps.
