OKLAHOMA CITY -- The race for the Democratic gubernatorial nominee remained close as the final votes rolled into the Oklahoma State Election Board Tuesday night.

At one point in the night, Lt. Gov. Jari Askins led with over 51 percent of the vote against State Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

Since there are only two candidates in the primary race, the election was decided by the majority winner, even within point of a percentage.
