NORMAN, Oklahoma -- Assistant district attorneys in Cleveland County could soon be carrying guns on the job.
They participated in a training seminar Sunday to learn about carrying concealed weapons. A new law going into effect November 1 allows them to carry a weapon to work.
"Having 25 lawyers, you know, as long as they're trained, as long as they're trained and able to use that weapon, like I said, it's a dangerous job and sometimes it's necessary and I would be in favor of it," Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn said.
Mashburn said he has not made a final decision over if assistant district attorneys will carry guns at work.
