EDMOND, Oklahoma – A 25-year-old was critically injured after he was pinned between a large hay bale and the bed of a pick-up truck.
Deputies received the call at about 5:45 p.m. of a man pinned near N.W. 220th Street and MacArthur Avenue just southwest of Rose Union Elementary School in a field.
Deputies said there was a mechanical or user malfunction with the vehicle, which was a large flat-bed pickup truck with mechanical arms used to move hay onto the truck. The malfunction ended with the bale of hay crushing the victim in the flat bed of the truck.
A witness was able to get the equipment to move the hay off the victim.
OCSO deputies, Deer Creek Fire and EMSA all responded to the scene.
The victim was taken to OU Medical Center for treatment. His name has not been released.
