NORMAN, Oklahoma – Norman police say an SUV traveling too fast on Interstate 35 veered off the highway and sparked a small fire after crashing through a fence.
Police say the driver of the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on I-35. The SUV clipped a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer, and lost control south of Main Street.
The driver swerved off the highway, plowed through a fence and knocked over a large electrical box. The car came to rest in the backyard of a home.
The crash did spark a small fire, but it was quickly extinguished by the Norman Fire Department. No one was seriously hurt in the crash. It's not known if the driver of the SUV was ticketed.
