The bats were hot once again Sunday as the Oklahoma State Cowboys pulled off the series sweep over Bowling Green State, topping the Falcons 6-2 for their fifth consecutive win.
Oklahoma State did most of its damage hitting for power, with all but one of its runs coming on multi-RBI hits. Trailing by one in the bottom of the fourth, senior Gabe Weidanaar blasted a two-out homer to right field to tie the game.
Still tied in the bottom of the sixth with no out and the bases loaded, Wes Jones hit a bases-clearing double to left field to break the tie and give the Cowboys a 4-1 lead. Victor Romero followed with a homer over the right field wall to put OSU up 6-1 and cinch things up.
Randy McCurry (1-1) came away with a win in the outing, giving up 10 hits and two earned runs, striking out four in his 6.2 innings of service. Ethan McKinney (0-2) was credited with a loss for the outing, giving up five earned runs on four hits in 5.1 innings of service.
The Cowboys will be back in action for a mid-week one-off against Missouri State at 7 p.m. Wednesday, before taking a three-game road trip to Fort Worth, Texas to take on the TCU Horned Frogs.
