OKLAHOMA CITY -- Dozens of rural residents in southeast Oklahoma City say they are in desperate straits, and need help.
Heavy rains Monday washed out the bridge on Southeast 125th Street, which is the only road that leads the residents into their neighborhood.
Residents say around 100 people live in 18 homes there. Now they have no way to get into or out of the neighborhood.
They say many of the people who live there are elderly, and because the bridge is washed out, there's no way for emergency vehicles to get to people in need.
Maintenance of the road in question is the responsibility of a local homeowners' association, but one of its members tells News 9 they don't have the money to fix the road or replace the washed out bridge.
