Oklahoma City Council members unanimously agreed Tuesday to pay $9 million for the half-finished American Indian Cultural Center and Museum.
Crews began building the center in 2006 near Interstates 35 and 40 downtown. Construction on the $170 million museum stopped last year when costs ran over budget and the Oklahoma Legislature refused a request for a bond issue to continue funding.
Although the $9 million from the city will help, it will take an estimated $80 million to finish the center.
