An Internet undercover operation by OSBI Agents results in the arrest of a Weatherford man.
Police arrested William Cantrell, 22, on July 11 at the Wal-Mart located at 1249 Eagle Road in Weatherford. Cantrell was an employee of the retail store.
According to investigators, undercover agents went online, posing as children between the ages of 9 and 13. Agents said Cantrell thought he was communicating with children when he told the undercover agents he wanted them to send him nude pictures of themselves, perform sex acts on themselves and meet him for sex. Cantrell and the undercover agents then set up a meeting at a dressing room inside the Wal-Mart where Cantrell was employed.
When Cantrell showed up for the planned meeting, he was greeted by OSBI agents and officers with the Weatherford Police Department. Police arrested him on five counts of lewd or indecent proposals to a child under 16 and two counts of violation of the Oklahoma computer crimes act. Cantrell was booked into the Weatherford City Jail.
The investigation is ongoing.
