Covering Oklahoma news for the past 30 years I've seen the best and the worst from Oklahomans, often at the same time.
At 6 o'clock we aired a story that was just infuriating.
Police say a woman driving her van in Tulsa was rammed by an ex-con allegedly high on formaldehyde.
Even as she switched lanes and tried to avoid the guy he kept slamming into her, and eventually her van rolled.
She survived and is recovering, but probably can't go to the job she was supposed to start Monday, her van is demolished.
Now she's afraid she'll lose her home.
That's the worst. Theresa Lehman represents the best. Minutes after that story aired she was e-mailing me.
"I am the office Manager with J&M Roofing Company. My boss saw your report tonight in regard to the lady that was run off the road in her van from road rage. We have contacted Hudiburg and would possibly like to work with them to get a good used car for the lady." Theresa Lehman, OKC
Oklahomans are just good.
It never fails, when someone is taken advantage of or victimized a viewer will contact us wanting to help, or sometimes we just get checks in the mail to be forwarded to a hurting Oklahoman.
Sure, it's the season of giving, but it's always in season in Oklahoma.
