Residents at an apartment complex in northwest Oklahoma City were evacuated Tuesday night, after an apartment caught on fire.
According to the fire department, crews responded to a fire at about 6:30 p.m., at an apartment located on the west side of the River Chase Apartments, at 11207 N. Penn. Avenue.
Crews were able to put out the fire quickly. Fire officials say a woman and her son were inside the apartment when they noticed the smoke. They were able to escape without injuries.
Officials say the fire may have been started by a candle, or it could be electrical. Investigators remain at the scene to determine what exactly caused the fire.
