Firefighters have put out a fire burning in a drum filled with kerosene in the 1800 block of S.E. 40th Street.
The two-alarm fire started around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at a commercial building. Because of the 2,500 gallons of burning kerosene, both firefighters and hazmat crews were called to the scene.
The fire was extinguished within an hour. The flames did not threaten the structure.
