While most of us plan to feast with our families this Thanksgiving, some Oklahoma residents are fasting instead.

For the past seven days, people who are taking part in Hunger 4 Justice, are on an 11 day fast, one day for the estimated 11 million immigrants living in the United States who are often separated from their families because of deportation.

"My parents came here with a purpose and that is to provide a better life for me which at this point, I've been able to have and haven't had to deal with the struggles a lot of my family members are dealing with back in Mexico," said Judith Huerta with Dream Act of Oklahoma.

The group will fast until Monday. Their ultimate goal is to see immigration reform to allow families who come to America for a better life be able stay here legally.
