Oklahoma City Police say a man was high on PCP when he took off his clothes, shattered a car's windshield, and then ran into a fire station and punched a firefighter.
On December 15 around 9:45 p.m., police and emergency crews were called to rollover crash at N.W. 122nd Street and May. Witnesses told police that a man driving a 1995 Crown Victoria had crashed into two other vehicles, causing one of them to flip over. The driver of the overturned car had to be hospitalized.
Police say the driver who caused the crash, later identified as 25-year-old James Harmon, ran from the accident and began taking off his clothes. Witnesses say Harmon – who is 6 feet 7 inches tall and 333 pounds -- jumped on top of a nearby car, shattering the windshield and damaging the hood.
Harmon kept running and ended up inside a fire station, where police say he punched a firefighter in the face, giving the victim a bloody nose. The victim's fellow firefighters then jumped on Harmon and held him down until police arrived.
Police later determined Harmon was on PCP. The drug can give users incredible strength, and also elevates body temperature.
Harmon was booked into the Oklahoma County jail for assault and battery on a city official, driving under the influence, speeding, destruction of private property, and resisting arrest.
