A northwest Oklahoma City home was destroyed in a large fire early Friday morning.

At about 1:45 a.m., crews responded to the fire at a home on Canyon Road near N.W. 164th and Piedmont Road.

As firefighters arrived at the scene, they reported that the house was engulfed in flames. Fire officials said there were no fire hydrants in the area, so they had to bring water in to battle the fire.

It took the firefighters nearly two hours to put out the fire. No one was inside the home, and no one was injured.

Fire officials said most of the damage was done to the master bedroom. They do not believe the fire is suspicious. However, the home is a total loss.

Firefighters told News 9 that the homeowner had recently made repairs to the home to fix some heating issues and a busted water pipe. She was house sitting someone else's home when her house caught on fire.

It is unclear at this time where the fire started. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
