Showers and thunderstorms are ongoing Thursday morning in Northern Oklahoma.
Storms are not severe and are moving southeast. The Oklahoma City metro has a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday morning and a 20 percent late day. Rest of the morning, a warm start over most of the state with mid to upper 70s and a southerly wind 10mph.
Later, it will be hot and humid conditions with a high near 96 degrees in central Oklahoma near 100 degrees out west. Skies are sunny and will contribute to the ( heat index) which will put OKC at or near 100 degrees .
The OZONE will be moderate late day, so if you suffer from breathing ailments you might take precautions.
We have a 20 percent chance for a stray thunderstorm in central Oklahoma into early evening. Thursday night, it will be hot, humid and breezy with an overnight low near 73 degrees.
We will stay hot and in the mid-90s through the weekend with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms each day.
