Oklahoma fans were downright angry after Monday night's debacle against Clemson in the Russell Athletic Bowl.
OU's 40-6 drubbing left many folks questioning whether this historic program has lost its edge. How could a game like this possibly happen?
Coach Bob Stoops certainly didn't see it coming.
“I have no issue with how we practiced,” Stoops said. “We didn't have a guy late for curfew, we didn't have a guy late for a meeting; we were at practice every day. Same formula that worked for us a year ago didn't work as well this time, and that's the bottom line.”
OU was one of the preseason favorites to make the inaugural College Football Playoff, but lost to every ranked team it faced. Season-ending losses to a pair of rebuilding programs in Oklahoma State and Clemson now leave the Sooners with plenty of questions moving forward.
“I expect Stoops to make staff changes,” News 9 Sports Director Dean Blevins said.
Stay tuned for a busy offseason in Norman.
