Alleged Sex-For-Hire Operation In Edmond Thwarted By Undercover Agents

Court documents were filed in the Oklahoma County District Court Friday against a woman allegedly caught in the act of prostitution during an undercover investigation in Edmond.

An agent with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics Human Trafficking Unit working undercover said he responded to a “Backpage” advertisement for an escort on Jan. 8.

The probable cause affidavit stated Rachel Herrera answered the agent's call and said she was available at the Villa at Stonebridge in Edmond near 33rd Street and Broadway. When the agent arrived at the apartment, he said other officers and agents were monitoring him inside through a mobile transmitter.

Herrera reportedly took the agent's cash and removed all of her clothes except her bra. Court documents also stated she pulled a condom from a small drawer. Then the agent said he “gave the signal for other officers/agents to enter the apartment.”

The agent inside the apartment told Herrera he needed to use the restroom and then waited in the restroom until hearing a knock at the door. Documents state the agent left the bathroom and found Herrera and another man, Ali Hussain Al Yousuf standing near the door looking through the peep hole after they had reportedly been hiding in the kitchen.

The agent opened the door to the other officers and identified himself.

Both Herrera and Al Yousuf were interviewed.

The District Attorney filed documents regarding the case on Friday, including one count of Maintaining a House of Prostitution and one count of Aiding and Abetting Prostitution against Al Yousuf, and one count of Engaging in Prostitution against Herrera.
