Chickasha Police Department officers arrested a man accused of trying to rob a Valero convenience store on South 4th Street back in April.

Authorities said Eather Polk was positively identified out of a lineup of other similar photos as the person who allegedly pointed a revolver at a store clerk and demanded cash. The clerk pushed the gun away from their face and then Polk reportedly fired a shot into the ceiling. Police said the clerk pulled out a pipe and threatened Polk with it. Then he took off.

Police said they later received a tip on May 30 from the clerk indicating he had been spotted near 5th Street and Texas Avenue. Police said he was later located in that area and detained.

After an interview with authorities. Polk was booked into the Grady County Jail accused of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon (Firearm).
