An attempted masked burglary played out on police body cam video. Chickasha Police were called to the Public Service Company after security saw a couple of people wearing dark colored clothing and carrying around a large, green ice chest.
"This gate's usually open,” an officer said as he approached the scene.
Guns drawn, police made their way to the enclosed area behind the business. As they made their way inside, they spotted an ice chest and a pair of hands sticking out from behind a gas tank.
"Let me see your hands,” the officers said.
One man was wearing a mask. Officers spot another set of hands.
"Both you,” officers said. “Let me see your hands."
Both suspects were masked, and little did police know one of them was a juvenile. The other one was Douglas Harris.
"Crawl out of there right now. Crawl out. On your stomachs. On your stomachs,” officers said. "Turn your heads to the left."
Police say Harris had three small flashlights in his pockets.
"Don't move,” they said.
Officers shined their way around trying to figure out what the pair was doing.
"There are some bolt cutters right back here,” an officer said.
They also found a Walkie Talkie radio on the ground behind the gas tank, and the ice chest was full of copper and aluminum wiring.
Both were arrested. Harris is now facing charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, wearing a mask to conceal his identity while committing a crime, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
