Norman Police are investigating after an officer involved shooting.
The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. Friday, when Norman Police Officers responded to the area of 108th Ave NE and Franklin after receiving a call about a man with a gun “threatening to kill people”.
Upon arrival, police found a man outside of the home, and that man then pointed a handgun at them. An officer fired one round striking the suspect.
“The subject was immediately taken into custody, and medical treatment was rendered. The subject was transported from the scene and is currently receiving additional medical treatment,” said Norman Police Department Major JD Younger.
The suspect still remains under medical care at the hospital.
The officer involved has been placed on administrative leave pending results of the investigation.
