Several of you are firing e-mails to me with your thoughts after the Oregon Community College shooting, after I admitted I don't have the answer to keep it from happening again. Here's what you had to say:
Martha in Midwest City first, "Every time I see a sign "No guns allowed" it scares me. I know that anyone with guns can come in and kill everyone in sight."
Clay in Bethany, "Bad people will do bad things it doesn't matter what "tool" they use. Just don't take away our right to defend ourselves."
William in Noble on teachers being armed, "I think that anyone, who is willing to take on the responsibility of protecting students, is to be applauded."
But Shettra says the focus shouldn't be on guns, "Mental Health is the common thread. With all of the mental health cuts made by our ever so wise Governor, I’m just waiting for those issues to hit home."
Brayton writes, "President Obama promised with his remaining time in office, he will try to enforce gun control. This will only take away protection of the good law abiding people."
And finally from Christina, "I believe all law abiding citizens should be able to carry a firearm legally without any permit that says they can. I know I would be less likely to want to go in and shoot up and or rob a place."
I'm Kelly Ogle and that's Your 2 Cents
