An anonymous tipster sent News 9 five images and claimed they were taken behind Corrugated Services at 7216 S. Bryant in Oklahoma City.
The images show what looks like Crest Foods employment documents (applications, direct deposit form, etc.) with piles of cardboard in the background.
Four of the pages reveal information about one woman from 2012. The other page involves another woman from 2009. Social security numbers and banking routing numbers are exposed.
News 9 reached out to the victims, who are obviously in a very vulnerable spot after this reported discovery.
This situation is a nightmare for the involved companies, as well.
Here is the full statement released by the grocery store chain:
"Crest takes this matter very seriously. The privacy of Crest's employees' confidential information is of the utmost importance to Crest, and Crest is committed to complying with all state and federal privacy laws. Crest is investigating all possible sources of disclosure including working with its third party vendor who Crest uses to destroy confidential employee information. Crest is also reviewing its internal and external policies and procedures concerning the confidentiality of employee information."
The facility where the documents were apparently floating around is used by Crest, a representative said.
News 9 left a message with the recycling plant, but attempts to reach the company were not successful.
