Researchers are looking at ways to make blast-proof buildings.
It comes in the wake of terrorist attacks around the world and in the United States. The goal of the study is to see what can be done to make buildings stronger.
One of those researchers is from England. He recently spoke at the University of Central Oklahoma. He's visiting Edmond to research terrorism with a UCO real estate professor.
They will be looking at whether or not terrorism is considered when architects design buildings. Part of the study includes looking at how the Murrah Building performed during the Oklahoma City bombing.
Researchers say if buildings can be constructed better to deal with terrorism, the effects may not be as severe, not only on the building but the community. Past research has shown terrorism can impact a city's economy as less tourists are likely to visit after an attack.
