Freezing drizzle and rain across Oklahoma has wreaked vehicular havoc across the Oklahoma City metro area and beyond Wednesday.
As of 11:45 a.m., it's 24 degrees in Oklahoma City, and the closer to 20 that temperature falls, the worse it bodes for drivers, said News 9 Chief Meteorologist David Payne. As of midday, the biggest road issues are elevated surfaces and bridges and overpasses in the Oklahoma City metro area and Interstate 40 west of the metro, especially past El Reno.
Earlier in the day, News 9's Chris Gilmore and Grant Hermes covered a 14-car pileup along the Broadway Extension near Interstate 44. See those reports below.
David says that while the drizzle may let up across the state, road conditions aren't likely to improve much -- and if they do, they'll be a problem again Wednesday night and into Thursday morning.
