You know with this new park comes new business opportunities. In fact, a big development is in the works, and it's one that's putting on the final touches for opening weekend.

The soon-to-be completed 40 acres of urban oasis is already proving to be a catalyst for development, right across the street, and eventually down the OKC Boulevard. Right next to the park, there's another race to be ready.

"It's amazing and horrifying at the same time," said Brad Mullenix, a partner at Social Capital.

Out of a one-time gas station on Hudson, stands Social Capital, which will offer another way to 'fill-er up.'

"It's amazing to be the first private development on the park," Mullenix said.

Mullenix said the craft beer bar, food and rooftop views will give patrons a personalized park experience.

"We are going to send you packing with a whole picnic," he said. "We saw plans for this park the minute they first came out and started looking for locations as close as humanely possible."

You may be hearing of the place, which opens in late September, but there's already buzz over the row of taps in glass and the controlled chaos of keg lines behind it.

"I haven't even thought about reservations, but I got people calling two years out from now, wanting to book 600 people for lunch," said Mullenix.

Social Capital sticks out in an area filled with old and abandoned buildings west of the park, but Scissortail has sparked an evolution, or you say revolution with Strawberry Fields.

"When you talk about location, location, location, Strawberry Fields is hard to beat," said former OKC Mayor Mick Cornett, who is a consultant on the project.

The 50-acre development, whose name is inspired by the Beatles, will provide a new district to come together. Residential living with several different districts, restaurants and retail, are all planned.

"I think the park is going to exceed a lot of expectations," Cornett said. "There will be people exercising at the park and it will be Oklahoma City's grand gathering space, a lot of people are going to want to live near that."

Cornett says the development is already turning heads.

"This piece of property is gathering intensity and excitement from people all over the country," he said.

It will most likely be five to 10 years before blocks west of the park start to resemble renderings. However, the Lucy, an office building off the OKC Boulevard and Marketplace will be the first to go up.

"Our rooftop view is pretty amazing," he said.

And an eye-opening to investors.
