Homemade Green Bean Casserole

  • 1/2 cup onions, diced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 4 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 pound fresh green beans, blanched
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • French fried onions 
  1. Sauté onions, mushrooms and bacon until bacon is lightly browned add in the mushrooms and cook for another two minutes.
  2. Sprinkle the flour into the pan stirring to combine with the veggies and then pour in the milk and continue stirring until thickened.
  3. Add 1/2 teaspoon garlic and a dash or Worcestershire sauce and stir.
  4. Add the green beans and toss to coat in the mushroom sauce.
  5. Sprinkle with fried onions and bacon in an oven at 350° for 30 minutes or until bubbly
