A jury of 12 individuals and two alternates have been chosen Monday in the trial against a teenage girl accused of killing another teenager.

Chloe Marie Thomas is accused in the murder of Annie Hill back in April, 2014. Prosecutors said Thomas and 18-year-old Chadd Raymond lured Hill into an apartment and killed her.

Thomas, 19, could spend the rest of her life behind bars if she’s convicted of killing 16-year-old Hill.

Potential jurors ran the gamut, everything from doctors to grandparents to an 18-year-old who said she would have a hard time sending someone her age to prison for life.

Raymond pleaded guilty to a charge of first-degree murder and received a 35 year sentence in exchange for his testimony against Thomas.

He’s expected to testify that he began choking Hill, but became tired so Thomas finished. Thomas’ attorney, Michael Trevino, said his client helped dispose of the body but that’s it.

"My client was the one that turned both of them in,” Trevino said. “And only at the end when he decides to cut a deal does he then decide to say, ‘oh yeah, Chloe is the one that actually did it.'"

Trevino said Raymond only accused Thomas after he found out how much time he was facing.

"And then, when he gets there and he's facing all that time, then he cuts a deal to tell a certain story.  And I hope the jury sees that as nothing but that -- a story," Trevino said.

Opening statements are expected to begin Monday.
