Former Moore Youth Minister Charged With Child Sex Crimes
MOORE, Oklahoma - A former Moore youth minister is behind bars Friday, accused of sending pornographic pictures and videos to several teens at his church.
Casey Haynes is no longer employed as the youth minster at the Central Church of Christ. Court records say he was fired last month after giving a written confession.
The sharing of explicit pictures and videos began last year, according to Moore investigators, until Casey Haynes was "confronted by a mother of one of the victims".
Court documents say Haynes used the social media app Snapchat, to "[exchange] pictures and videos with at least four minors" - teens who detectives say were part of Haynes' youth group.
One of the girls told the investigator, after a church youth event Haynes "put his hand under her shirt and grabbed her breast”.
In Haynes' arrest affidavit, it says his victims were both boys and girls.
Each reporting they'd received inappropriate pictures and videos from Haynes.
“It's unfortunate that we see a lot of this in the schools and now in churches. It's someone you trust with your kids,” said Sgt. Jeremy Lewis, Moore Police.
The Central Church of Christ was not available for comment Friday.
A News 9 crew stopped by Haynes’ home where he was arrested Friday morning. Neighbors said his lived there with his wife and baby. No one came to the door
One of Haynes' alleged victims’ father reached out to News 9 before Haynes arrest.
Friday, he gave this statement saying in part:
"This guy did a lot more evil to these kids that they can't prove. Mainly because he used Snapchat to traffic his child porn. I hope they are hard on him and he gets what he deserves. My daughter has... emotional scars that will last a lifetime."
Haynes is still in the Cleveland County Jail. He's been charged with several sex crimes.
