Oklahoma City police arrested one person in connection to a woman’s death early Friday morning.

According to police, just before 4 a.m., officers responded to a check welfare report in the 3800 block of N.W. 26th Street. Officers responded and found the victim, 32-year-old Sabrina Brooke Ewertz, dead in the road.

According to police, the suspect, 29-year-old Chrysanthemum Ewertz, and the victim were married. Witnesses told police the two had gotten into a fight. Chrysanthemum Ewertz then got into her car and tried to leave. That’s when the victim jumped on the car to try to keep her from leaving.

However, witnesses said Chrysanthemum Ewertz accelerated the car while she was backing up, and the victim was thrown off the car. Police said the victim hit the ground and died as a result.

Police said Chrysanthemum Ewertz did not run over the victim with the car. She drove away and came back a short time later to find police officers at their home.

Chrysanthemum Ewertz will be booked into the Oklahoma County Jail on complaints of first-degree murder and DUI, according to police.
