There’s still time for people to share their stories of how gaming can bring people together from across the globe, starting friendships, rivalries, and romances.

GameStop is giving people the chance to share their “gaming relationships” through the #SummerAtGameStop initiative.

For five weeks, the contest series highlights the values and unification gaming brings between people no matter age, location, race, sex, skill level, and more.

The five weeks have themes:

Week 1: Never MetYou’ve gamed together. You’re practically best friends. But you’ve never actually met face-to-face. Here’s your chance to change that.

Week 2: RomanceThe couple that plays together stays together. Whether you are in a long-distance relationship or enjoy couch co-op with your Player 2, we want to hear your story.

Week 3: ReunitedWe all have gaming friends from our past. Military buddies. College roommates. Neighborhood friends you gamed with all summer long. Here’s your opportunity for a long overdue gaming reunion.

Week 4: Game NightGame night is always epic at your house. But what makes yours unique? Where do you meet up? Who shows? What games do you play?

Week 5: Rematch There’s always one: Your gaming nemesis. That one person you could never consistently beat. Well, it’s time to get your revenge with the ultimate rematch.

GameStop has already selected the first two weeks’ winners. The winner of the first week’s theme of “Never Met” is Albert, a law enforcement officer from Louisiana.  Read his story here. Albert is a long time gamer and connected with his "Never Met” friend, Matt, from Utah through mutual gaming friends years ago while playing Ghost Recon Advanced Warfare 2 on the PS3. Albert’s entry has won him two flights plus $2,000 in cash and GameStop gift cards. He plans on taking a trip to see Matt in person.

The winner of the second week’s theme of Romance is Andrea, a bus driver in Seattle, WA. Andrea shared her love story about how she met her now wife, Ayu, through Xbox Live while playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 four years ago. Watch her video here. Andrea’s entry has won she and Ayu a getaway, including airfare and hotel, for two and two $500 GameStop gift cards.

Other gamers can share their personal stories about just how powerful and meaningful gaming is to them – and they might be a winner too!

The series continues through 11:59 p.m. Monday, July 27, contest participants can tweet or post their photos on Instagram, being sure to use the hashtags #SummerAtGameStop and #contest when telling their stories about the greatness of gaming together. They can also enter through the #SummerAtGameStop website at www.summeratgamestop.com.

Submissions need to be tied to each themed week for a chance to win weekly prizes.
